Public Health Nurse
The successful candidate will provide coordinated care and HIV prevention services, facilitate access to clinical and community resources, and help patients navigate complex healthcare needs. This position also plays a key role in supporting pregnant women living with HIV by coordinating care between obstetric and infectious disease providers to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
The Senior Registered Nurse will collaborate closely with physicians, community organizations, and multidisciplinary care teams while contributing to grant‑funded program initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and patient engagement activities.
Clinical Locations- USF Health
- St. Petersburg (Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital campus) - USF Health
- Tampa Main Campus - Ybor Youth Clinic (Ybor City)
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between clinic sites are required.
This position requires a high level of independence, critical thinking, and clinical judgment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing patient needs remotely, including conducting telephone triage, coordinating care plans, and providing education and follow‑up support over the phone.
Required Qualifications- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida
- Experience in HIV care, HIV prevention, and medical case management
- Experience providing care to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations
- Phlebotomy and injection administration experience
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives, data tracking, and/or grant‑funded clinical programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including patient education and public speaking
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and Epic electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with community partners and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
