Perform and document mechanical, visual, and nondestructive inspections of assemblies and components, interfacing with departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, Quality Assurance, and external customer representatives.

Inspection includes ensuring product correctness to applicable engineering, quality assurance, and contract specifications. Assembly inspections cover order requirements, test acceptability, product markings, customer-required tagging/marking, cleanliness, workmanship, proper installation and tightening of fasteners, preservation and packing, and packaging marking accuracy. Assist in other quality inspection functions.

• Perform in-process and final inspection of machined parts and final assemblies to applicable drawings, quality assurance, and contract requirements.
• Verify completed assemblies meet drawing and testing requirements.
• Verify data plates/tags are marked correctly.
• Verify test reports are completed to all stated requirements.
• Identify and document nonconforming items and work with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to process them.
• Maintain work area equipment and supplies to ensure a 6s work environment.
• Interact with Engineering or other functional groups for problem solving.
• Complete required checklists and contract analysis sheets for the Maritime program.
• Participate in quality clinic activities and contribute to quality improvements.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

• 2-4 years of inspection experience.
• Knowledge and use of basic inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, plug/thread gauges).
• Demonstrated knowledge of at least three advanced inspection skills:
  Coordinate Measuring Machine, Visual Inspection (VT), Penetrant Inspection (PT), Ultrasonic Thickness, Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Hardness Testing, and Steam Plant clean.
• Visual Weld Inspection proficiency.
• Knowledge of Vantage receiving inspection processing.
• Ability to read and understand drawings.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.
• Advanced computer skills; proficient in MS Office.
• EHS awareness.
• Intermediate problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility on overtime.

• HS Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Certifications/training records matching the advanced inspection skills.
• 2+ years’ experience with Level II NDT examination.
