Postdoctoral Fellow for Biostatistics, Cancer Clinical Trials, and Real-world Evidence
Dr. Vivien Yin’s Lab at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center—an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and one of the nation’s top-ranked cancer research institutes—is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to cutting‑edge research at the intersection of biostatistics, oncology, and computational methods.
SummaryThe Fellow will develop and apply innovative statistical methodologies for oncology clinical trials. Areas of emphasis include, but are not limited to:
- Adaptive and Bayesian trial designs
- Causal machine learning and individualized treatment strategies
- Master protocol designs (basket, umbrella, and platform trials)
- Real‑world data and evidence integration for clinical decision support
This position offers an exceptional opportunity to engage in collaborative and impactful research across GI Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Biostatistics & Bioinformatics. The appointment will remain open until filled.
The Ideal Candidate- Research background/experiences in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or data science.
- A highly motivated and independent researcher with a strong quantitative scientific background and programming skills.
- Experience in clinical trials not required but ability to learn new knowledge is highly desirable.
- Committed to producing high-quality, high-impact research and contributing to publications and grant proposals.
- Develop and extend computational, statistical, and machine-learning methods to advance cancer clinical trial research.
- Design and implement novel visualizing tools to facilitate interpretation of operating characteristics of innovative trial designs.
- Integrate and identify new clinical or biological signals using large-scale real‑world datasets, including Flatiron, ORIEN, NCDB, and the Florida Cancer Registry.
Required: Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred:
- Strong programming skills in Python and R.
- Research background in machine learning or clinical trials.
- Experience in processing and integrating real-world data (RWD).
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
