This sales position will provide various types of industrial hardware directly to customers within a defined geographic territory through cold‑calling and prospecting activities. Must reside within territory.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Develop new sales prospects through research, referrals, and calling businesses near existing customers.
- Make face‑to‑face calls on cold and warm prospects.
- Service customers following company training materials.
- Submit complete and accurate daily business reports of sales orders and prospect calls.
- Present products and services to existing and prospective customers using sample boards, product demos, and the mobile store.
- Maintain cleanliness, operation, marketing, and functionality of the mobile store.
- Maintain customer contact information via company software (notes, names, phone, email, address).
- Provide a fully insured vehicle, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and required technology (mobile devices, tablets, iPad, phone).
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Outside industrial sales experience preferred, especially in route or industrial sales.
- Proven history of goal attainment.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and organizational skills.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas and information in written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, email, and common business applications.
- Working knowledge of the products sold is helpful.
- Must be able to purchase or lease an approved vehicle (mobile store).
- Must reside within territory.
- Above‑average mechanical interest.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to kneel and bend down regularly.
- Clean driving history.
- Conduct oneself professionally when representing the company (e.g., driving approved vehicle, wearing company attire, attending company functions).
3rd‑generation family‑owned and operated company with 10‑year average employee tenure and 90% retention rate.
SalaryAnnual salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 USD.
