Summary:
Performed specialized duties in the operation of communications equipment, computerized alarm systems, camera systems, receiving, screening, and monitoring of emergency calls and dispatching vehicles to scenes of emergencies.
- Receives, screens, and monitors calls from district staff, various agencies, and citizens requesting assistance or information.
- Monitors and dispatches School Security and Emergency Management Officers, Transportation staff, and first responders.
- Monitors, screens, and receives district fire and intrusion alarms.
- Monitors district surveillance camera systems.
- Creates and sends mass communication notifications to district staff.
- Inputs calls for service and maintains applicable records on the Security and Emergency Management records management system and alarm database.
- Maintains a high degree of current knowledge of the location of various schools and streets that access them; knowledge of alarm control boxes and key safes.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.

Experience:
Six (6) months in general clerical duties, alarm monitoring, or radio dispatching. One year of college (30 semester hours) or two (2) years of general work experience may substitute for six (6) months experience.
Language Skills:
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Perform basic arithmetic, compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; solve problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office.
Physical

Standing, walking, sitting, handling, keyboarding, talking, and hearing.
Lifting Demands:
Up to 10 pounds.
Reaching:
Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
