Generator Technician - Tampa, Florida

Position Overview

• Maintain generators by diagnosing and repairing problems, installing and replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment.
• Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications during installation or repair.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components; test for proper operation.
• Respond promptly to power/generator alarms; be available on call 24/7 if necessary and respond promptly to assigned phone and email.
• Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards (falls, electric shock, falling objects, traffic) and use safety equipment and practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings.

• Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred; minimum one year of intensive work‑related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.

• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods.
• May need to inspect and troubleshoot equipment/alarms visually and audibly.
• Must be willing and able to drive long distances; workday, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods.
• Must pass a DOT physical.

Base Pay Range: $30 USD – $40 USD.
