As a Backhoe Operator you will be a vital member of our pipe crew, responsible for operating and maintaining a backhoe to support the installation of water, sewer, and drainage systems. Your expertise will ensure the safe and precise excavation required for the successful completion of underground utility projects.

• Operate and maintain a backhoe with precision, following project plans and specifications for excavation and trenching.
• Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team, and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Perform trenching and excavation tasks to prepare the work area for pipe installation, ensuring proper depth and alignment.
• Handle pipes, materials, and other equipment required for the project, positioning them accurately for installation.
• Ensure that excavation work meets project standards, blueprints, and design specifications.
• Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to coordinate excavation activities and achieve project goals.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and equipment issues as needed.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, and promptly reporting any equipment issues to the maintenance department.
• Maintain accurate records, including daily equipment inspection reports, work logs, and any required documentation.
• Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during excavation work.

• Proven experience as a Backhoe Operator in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining backhoes for excavation and trenching tasks.
• Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and underground utility installation techniques.
• Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different job sites as required.
