Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of sheet metal work on construction projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of sheet metal workers and subcontractors, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to develop and implement project plans and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sheet metal work performed, including materials used, labor hours, and any changes or modifications to project plans.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for the project.
  • Evaluate mechanics and workers' abilities and expertise to ensure the most productive job placement.
  • Study schedules and estimate man‑hour requirements for completion of jobs.
  • Consistently monitor labor and material costs to ensure operation within established budget parameters.
  • Create RFIs as needed for the job.
  • Maintain time records.
  • Maintain company vehicle.
  • This is a non‑union position.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in self‑performing sheet metal work, with a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and installation techniques.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity, with the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
  • Strong understanding of SMACNA, Florida Building, and AHCA codes.
  • Adept at working with coordinated shop drawings from BIM as well as remodel projects with only contract drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of all HVAC duct system installations.
  • Ability to understand airflow, CFM values, and to use a "Ductulator".
  • Valid and clean driver's license.
