. The Instructor Lead, Child Care, Hillsborough County Public Schools out of School Time (HOST), will perform field and office work in the inspection of child care facilities and respective program. Duties are performed under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor who evaluates performance through observation of work, periodic conferences, critiques, and/or records and reports.
- Inspects and observes facilities, staff, and operation of program.
- Performs on-site inspections and observations of facilities and program operations.
- Confers with operating staff and provides technical advice and guidance, and disseminates information.
- Investigates complaints and/or problems.
- Maintains record of, and renders reports on, visitations conducted and any actions taken.
- Handles substitute needs for staffing.
- Assists in screening potential applicants to work in program.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attention to the work.
- Support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan.
- Engage in civility, respect, and professionalism.
- Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of their positions.
Experience:
Childcare experience preferred but not required.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Possession of a Childcare Development Associate Credential (CDA) and/or a commitment to complete 15 hours of child care training each year. Maintain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. All training requirements must be completed within three (3) months of appointment start date; applicable coursework shall be included in the 15-hour requirement.

Skills:
Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence. Speaks effectively before groups of individuals.
Mathematical
Skills:
Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computes rate, ratio, and percent and draws and interprets bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
