Job Overview

Job Coach of Vocational Services – Tampa, FL, United States

Job Type and Compensation

Full-time position. Estimated average annual pay range: $39,000–$49,000 per year (includes $18.00 hourly rate plus estimated bonus).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients during employment assignments to improve soft skills and build vocational skills; provide feedback and guidance to ensure employment is successful.
  • Create accommodations for clients to ensure employment success, including task lists, phone reminders, and modifications based on learning style.
  • Work with supervisors at partner job sites to address issues promptly.
  • Maintain communication with clients, families, and Vocational Rehabilitation via verbal and written methods.
  • Attend orientation and training sessions with a client after placement to provide coaching on duties.
  • Record details of client employment for billing purposes.
  • Write detailed case notes documenting all phone, text, or in-person interactions.
  • Complete various tasks for Employment Specialists as needed.
  • Drive clients to various locations as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required; some college or degree preferred.
  • No experience necessary; preferred experience with individuals with a disability and/or counseling, job placement, job coaching, or public vocational rehabilitation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe, and web-based database systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, training, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Open availability during days, evenings, and weekends to accommodate student schedules.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of vehicle registration and insurance (minimum bodily injury $50,000 per person / $100,000 per accident).
  • Own computer, printer, smartphone with data plan, and high-speed internet connection.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus; ASL proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Background screening: level 2 FDLE Care Provider Background Screening required.

Travel:
Local travel required.

Physical Demands:
Frequent driving for long periods, standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 40 lbs.

Office environment and in the field at various business locations.

Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.

Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
