Position: Associate Software Engineer (Hybrid)

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop software applications and supporting infrastructure using established coding standards and methodologies.
  • Relentlessly pursue quality through multiple levels of automated tests, including unit, API, end‑to‑end, and load.
  • Develop tooling, test harnesses, and innovative solutions to understand and monitor product quality.
  • Develop infrastructure as code to reliably deploy applications on demand or through automation.
  • Understand cloud‑managed services and build scalable and secure applications using them.
  • Create proof of concepts for new ideas that answer key questions of feasibility, desirability, and viability.
  • Perform thorough code reviews that promote better understanding throughout the team.
  • Troubleshoot, instrument, and debug existing software resolving root causes of defective behavior.
  • Build intuitive user interfaces with end‑user personas in mind using front‑end frameworks and styling.
  • Work with architects, designers, business analysts, and others to design and implement solutions.
  • Work within an agile scrum team, contributing to an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
  • Understand how to interpret database models and effectively collaborate with Database Engineers.
  • Assist product owners in backlog grooming, story breakdown, and story estimation.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Document software changes for use by other engineers, quality assurance, and documentation specialists.
  • Master the technologies, languages, and practices used by the team and project assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimal relevant work experience (0‑2 years).

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Basic programming skills and proficiency in one or more of the following languages: .NET Core, C#, Java, SQL, JavaScript, Type Script, Python.
  • Single‑Page Applications:
    Angular (v9+), Ivy, RXJS, NGRX, HTML5, CSS/SASS, Web Components, Atomic Design.
  • Test‑First approach:
    Test‑Driven Development (TDD), automated testing with Protractor, Jasmine, Postman, artillery.io.
  • Microservices, Terraform, Jenkins, Docker, NPM, Yarn, NuGet, Node‑JS, Git/Gerrit, Launch Darkly.
  • AWS services:
    Lambda, S3, Cognito, Step Functions, SQS, IAM, Cloud Watch, Elasticache.
  • Database design and optimization:
    Postgre

    SQL, Mongo

    DB, Dynamo

    DB, Elastic Search, PySpark, Kafka.
  • Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Dev Sec Ops .
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
  • Primarily a sedentary job requiring consistent seating for the majority of the workday.
  • Regular keyboard use and prolonged computer screen observation.
  • Clear verbal and written communication with customers and associates.

While this position is primarily remote, if you reside within a 26‑mile radius of our corporate office you will be required to work in a hybrid capacity. Our corporate office is located at 4301 Boy Scout Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607.
