Position within JPMorgan

Chase’s Payments Technology group, located in Tampa, FL. This role requires a core technical contributor who develops scalable, resilient, and secure Java-based systems that support the firm’s business objectives.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient Java systems, contributing to iterative improvements for product teams.
• Implement creative software solutions, troubleshooting, and innovative approaches that exceed routine methods.
• Write secure, high‑quality production code, review and debug code written by peers.
• Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues, improving overall operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
• Champion new and emerging technologies across the Software Engineering community.
• Enhance team culture by fostering diversity, inclusion, and respect.

• Formal training or certification in Java software engineering and a minimum of 5 years of applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, particularly Spring‑Boot.
• Hands‑on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience maintaining code in a large corporate environment, utilizing modern programming & database querying languages.
• Advanced skills in at least one programming language.
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery practices.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Deep understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical disciplines such as cloud, AI/ML, or mobile.
• In‑depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Practical experience with cloud‑native technologies.

• Familiarity with modern front‑end technologies.
• Exposure to additional cloud technologies.
