Iteris is looking for a Managed Lanes Operator I and must possess strong familiarity with the District’s freeway and arterial systems as well as the managed lanes network. The Managed Lanes Operators will be the primary Operators of the Statewide Express Lanes Software (SELS).
What You Will Be Doing- Primary operators of the Statewide Express Lanes Software (SELS)
- Verify trip and segment toll amounts are displayed correctly every 15 minutes
- Monitor Express and general‑purpose lanes
- Manage events in the Express Lanes in accordance with District 7 ELOPs and District 7 RTMC SOP
- Monitor field devices along Express and general‑purpose lanes and report failures in accordance with District 7 RTMC SOP
- Closely coordinate and support all Express Lanes operations
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of Express Lanes reports
- Send executive notification e‑mails in the absence of a supervisor or Shift Leader
- Monitor the status of Managed Lanes using CCTV cameras, RRSP, detector data, etc. to include detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic and incident management events, congestion, and travel time imbalances in the geographical coverage area
- Enter into Sun Guide software all scheduled and unscheduled events and congestion in the Managed Lanes and disseminate information using ITS devices, websites, and FL511 system
- Coordinate with other Control Room staff, law enforcement, and external agencies in response to incidents
- Dispatch RRSPs and RISC to motorists, events, and to assist law enforcement in a timely and efficient manner
- Manage WWD events in the Managed Lanes
- Detect, confirm, and report equipment faults affecting Control Room equipment and RTMC system field equipment
- Coordinate with maintenance staff as needed
- Follow FDOT District 7 policies and procedures, including the District 7 RTMC SOP
- Follow time requirements in the District 7 RTMC SOP for event confirmation, RRSP and RISC dispatching, DMS message posting, FL511 system update, etc.
- One (1) year experience as an Operator I in an RTMC or equivalent facility
- Ability to gain acceptable skill in the use of SELS software within the allotted time
- Skills in interpersonal relationships and ability to work well within a group
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman’s terms
- Ability to work alternate work schedules and be on‑call 24 hours per day
- Ability to gain acceptable skill in the use of Sun Guide software and Windows‑based applications within the allotted time
- Ability to write reports clearly and concisely
- Ability to coordinate real‑time activities and priorities
- Knowledge of communications and sending information via multiple communication devices

Compensation:
Iteris anticipates paying an hourly rate between $22.00 and $24.00 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual’s job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
