Hours :
Varies based on route – No overnight

Basic summary of the job :
Drives heavy trucks of up to five axles & performs minor maintenance on truck

• Performs an operational & safety check of the truck before use, checks fuel & fluid levels, air pressures, braking systems, lights & mirrors, general engine condition, cab condition & exterior condition for any potential operational or safety problems.
• Secures load before, during and after each stop using the proper tie downs.
• Performs a similar inspection of the unit to be towed such as trailers; checks air, hydraulic & electrical connections.
• Performs minor adjustments & preventive maintenance.
• Picks up & delivers materials at work site as directed by customer.
• Ensures that material, equipment, & safety devices required for the job are loaded prior to moving to the job site.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in the operation of five axle trucks with flatbed.
• Class A Driver License with clear MVR

• Must be able to operate a manual transmission.
• Must be able to accurately read tape measure
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions & decimals.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good customer service skills

Must be able to walk, stand, sit, and apply all motor functions in order to perform the job. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, operate overhead cranes and forklift.
