Job DescriptionAsa TCSyouwill work in collaboration withthe Facility Manager, Project Managers,andlocal MOT teamto support MOT’s core values and mission to protect our customers’ people, business, and time.
MOT TCS reviews and executes temporary traffic control plans and/or standards to ensure work zones are properly installed and maintained along with coordinating and communicating with customers to ensure the safety of all workers.
- Set up and maintain channelizing devices, and other traffic controlequipmentaccording to Federal, State, and/or Local temporary traffic control guidelines and temporary traffic control plans for complex work zonesto ensure the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through project locations and work zones.
- Coordinate and communicate workactivityfor onsite MOT personnel including protectors (flaggers), TMA drivers, and pilot car operators providing breaks and overall management of work zone operations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers while always maintaining a professional approach to meeting customers’ expectations.
- Drive companyvehiclesto transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sitesin asafe,efficient,andtimely manner. May alsobe required topull lightweight trailered equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and practices and notify theirsupervisorof any potential safety issues or incidents.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors(flaggers) and obtainall MOT-required training withinthetime frame established bythe Facility Manager.
- Complete all required project documentation including pre-job safety briefings (PJSB), daily ticket control logs, traffic control inspections, vehicle inspections, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License void of suspension or revocation.
- Must have open availability.
- Must be capable of standing 8-12 hours and lifting
80lbsrepetitively using proper lifting techniques. - Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Must be able to follow safeworkpracticesand company safety guidelines.
- Competent in working around a high volume,fast-moving traffic.
The employee must be able to successfully manage the physical demands of this position, which include the following:
- Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload.
- Typical workweek 50 hours.
- Majority of time will be in the field.
- The position may workin outside conditions that include inclement weather,not limited toheat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles, and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Noise levels in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- Position may lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
If necessary,in the field, stand for long periods of time andperformstrenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts push, pulls, or carries objects.
