Job Summary

The Material Handling Laborer is responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse, logistics, and material movement activities to ensure efficient receipt, storage, distribution, and accountability of supplies and equipment. This role requires reliability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to all company, safety, and contract requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Load, unload, and move materials manually or using material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies.
    • Receive, verify, and stage incoming shipments; inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
    • Accurately store, organize, and maintain inventory in designated locations.
    • Prepare materials for issue, shipment, or distribution.
    • Assist with inventory cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of material movement, tagging, labeling, and documentation per contract and internal procedures.
    • Utilize warehouse management systems or logs to document material transactions.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and yard areas.
    • Perform basic preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on material‑handling equipment.
    • Report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, or equipment issues immediately.
    • Follow all OSHA, DOT, company, and contract‑specific safety guidelines.
    • Wear required PPE and participate in required safety training.
    • Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials (if applicable) in accordance with SDS and safety protocols.
    • All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling roles.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory and documentation (Excel, WMS, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA forklift certification or ability to obtain if necessary.
  • Experience working on government or military contracts.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems, barcoding, or WMS platforms.
