Assistant​/Nurse Manager - St. Andrew's Nursing Home North

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team rew's Nursing Home (Tampines North). The ideal candidate will be a senior staff nurse with extensive clinical experience and a robust background in infectious control. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional looking for a new challenge in a leadership capacity.

• To oversee the team of registered and enrolled nurses, nursing aides and healthcare assistants.

• Responsible for compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by Ministry of Health (MOH) and Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
• Lead quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care. Ensures quality audits are planned and conducted periodically. Follow up with areas for corrective improvements.
• Promote evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery.
• Ensure written policies and procedures and work process are available and up to date to guide the nursing care delivery.

• Ensure the smooth transition of residents from acute to chronic care and back to the community, where possible.
• Direct care of the residents to ensure compliance to standards.

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures in compliance with national guidelines and best practices.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to infection control protocols and address any compliance issues.
• Provide training and education to staff on infection control practices and emerging infectious diseases.
• Investigate and manage infection outbreaks, coordinating with relevant health authorities as necessary.

• Ensure appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.

• Direct and facilitate staff development, skills and competency upgrading through various opportunities. These may include formal education, in‑house training or approved online learning programmes.
• Guide orientation/induction programmes and preceptorship for all new staff.
• Support the Nursing Director in nursing home management and deputize in her absence.

• Education and Licensing:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
  • Certification or training in infection control is highly desirable.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior staff nurse or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in infection control and management, including handling infection outbreaks and implementing infection control protocols.
  • Demonstrated experience in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
