Senior Social Worker - Community Intervention

The Senior Social Worker provides leadership and guidance in casework practice within the Community Interventions Division, supporting both staff development and quality service delivery. The role involves working with young people who may have experienced adverse or traumatic life events, and therefore requires an understanding of how trauma can shape behaviour, relationships, and life trajectories.
You will work closely with the Division Head, Lead Social Worker, and corporate teams to ensure that practice is aligned with the organisation’s philosophy, values, and objectives, while fostering a supportive and sustainable working environment for staff.
Responsibilities- Provide oversight for the casework framework within the Community Interventions Division, including programme planning, budgeting, and responsible use of resources
- Collaborate with the Division Head and Corporate Services to develop clear and sustainable pathways for staff development, learning, and progression
- Support staff through supervision, guidance, and reflective practice to promote alignment with organisational values and trauma-informed approaches
- Oversee casework management and community engagement efforts within the Division, ensuring ethical and client-centered practice
- Provide consultation and guidance in crisis situations and complex cases, with attention to staff well-being and shared decision-making
- Facilitate inter-departmental and inter-divisional collaboration to support reintegration and rehabilitation outcomes
- Oversee and participate in family interventions when appropriate, ensuring interventions are timely, respectful, and needs-led
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies and community partners to support holistic rehabilitation and reintegration
- Support staff professional development in partnership with the Lead Social Worker and Human Resources
- Monitor programme outcomes and ensure alignment with divisional and organisational goals, using feedback and learning for continuous improvement
- Degree in Social Work, with at least 5 years of experience in direct social work practice or a related setting
- Experience in managerial and organisational leadership within social services
- Strong grounding in social work interventions, social policies, and community-based practice
- Familiarity with clinical supervision frameworks and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of community resources and government systems (e.g. MSF, MOE)
