Are you a patient and adaptable Teaching Assistant looking for a varied role combining 1:1 SEMH support and general classroom assistance?

Long Term Futures is working with a supportive primary school in the B77 area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This rewarding position involves providing morning 1:1 intervention support for a pupil with SEMH needs, followed by general Teaching Assistant duties within the classroom during the afternoons.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour in the mornings, while contributing to whole-class learning and classroom support in the afternoons. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic role and is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted 1:1 morning support for a pupil with SEMH needs
Deliver structured interventions focused on emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
Build a consistent, positive relationship to support engagement and trust
Support the pupil during transitions and unstructured times
Assist the class teacher with general classroom support in the afternoons
Support small groups and whole-class activities
Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
Candidate Requirements

Previous experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
Calm, resilient and consistent approach
Confidence delivering 1:1 interventions and behaviour support strategies
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
