Practice Nurse (full time - 37.5 hours per week)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Practice Nurse to join our busy team at the Hollies Medical Practice in Tamworth.
The Hollies has approximately 15500 patients.
Main duties of the jobThe ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. They will support the delivery of the following services to patients:
- Providing general advice regarding health care and minor ailments
- Chronic disease and management of long term conditions, such as COPD and Diabetes
- Immunisations
- Cytology
- Cryotherapy
- Venepuncture
The practice uses EMIS Web, and although experience in using this system is desirable training will be provided.
Applicants must hold a current NMC registration and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
About us(37.5 hours - Monday to Friday 8.30 - 5.00 pm)

Job responsibilitiesTo provide genera land specific health screening to the practice population, in line with agreed protocols and reference to the General Practitioner, where necessary.
Advise patients regarding general health care and minor ailments, in person and on the telephone
Devise and implement a programme of nursing care based on individual patient need, in conjunction with the patient.
Be responsible for managing clinics and carrying out associated tasks including the following:
Cytology, travel vaccinations, ECGs,Spirometry, peak flow readings, venepuncture, management of long term conditions, ear syringing, childhood immunisations, chaperoning patients who are being examined by another clinician, urine testing, dietary advice, anaphylaxis and CPR.
