The Role Lead the data research function and define the strategy for identifying and evaluating new data sources. Assess the quality, reliability, and commercial value of datasets to determine whether they are worth purchasing and integrating into products. Design and oversee statistical analysis, modelling, and time series research to validate potential data assets. Work closely with stakeholders across data, partnerships, and technology teams to develop new research opportunities.

Drive end-to-end research projects, from hypothesis generation through to evidence-based recommendations. Improve data evaluation frameworks, standards, and processes. Manage and mentor a small team while fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement. Support the adoption of AI and advanced analytical techniques to improve research efficiency and quality. Your Skills & Experience Strong commercial experience in data science, statistics, quantitative research, or a related field.

Python skills, with experience applying statistical analysis and time series techniques to complex datasets. Strong understanding of data quality assessment, feature engineering, and modelling. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience evaluating new datasets and translating findings into commercial recommendations. Ability to lead research projects from concept through to delivery.

Experience working with alternative data, financial data, market intelligence, or data products is advantageous.
