We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected business to recruit an Finance Assistant for their high-performing finance team. This role offers a varied and fast-paced workload within a dynamic finance function, where you will play a key role in managing accounts receivable, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with wider finance operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of debt collection, ensuring customer balances are collected within agreed payment terms
- Liaise with customers and internal teams to resolve invoice queries and payment issues
- Prepare reports for monthly aged debt review meetings
- Set up and maintain customer account records, including VAT validation checks and payment terms
- Process cash allocations accurately and maintain remittance records
- Create and post cashbook and sales journal entries
- Complete weekly/monthly sales routines and process sales credit notes
- Assist with management accounts preparation and reporting across multiple entities
- Complete weekly bank reconciliations across sterling and foreign currency accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Assist with VAT returns, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Credit Control, or Finance role
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working within a busy finance team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience with EFACS or similar ERP systems is desirable, but not essential
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and problem-solving approach
- Motivated with a desire to develop and progress within finance
