About the role

Stella Maris School is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Counselor to join our team in Tangerang, Banten. As a full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the emotional, social and academic wellbeing of our diverse student population.

What you'll be doing
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of issues such as academic stress, interpersonal conflicts, and personal challenges.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Conduct regular assessments and maintain detailed records to monitor student progress and ensure the effectiveness of support programs.
  • Collaborate with the school's leadership team to identify and address emerging trends and challenges within the student body.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops and seminars on topics such as time management, study skills, and mental health awareness.
  • Serve as a resource for the school community, providing guidance and referrals to external support services as needed.
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor degree in Psychology, Guidance and Counseling Teacher.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a School Counselor, preferably in an international or multicultural school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of child & adolescent development, as well as the ability to identify and address a wide range of emotional, social, and academic needs.
  • Proficiency in using counseling techniques and evidence-based interventions to support student wellbeing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
