About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Lecturer for Information Technology (IT) Study Program to join our academic team at Swiss German University Asia in Tangerang Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality IT education to our students. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering engaging courses that meet international academic standards whilst fostering critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills amongst our student cohort.

This role is integral to the continued success and reputation of our IT Study Program and offers the opportunity to shape the next generation of IT professionals.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and deliver engaging lectures, seminars and practical sessions for IT courses across various levels of study

Design comprehensive course curricula and learning materials that align with international standards and industry best practices

Assess student learning through examinations, assignments, projects and other evaluation methods, providing constructive feedback to promote academic development

Supervise student projects, practical work and research activities, offering guidance and mentorship throughout the learning process

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current developments in information technology and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies into teaching practice

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality and coherence of the IT Study Program

Participate in academic committees, curriculum review processes and professional development activities

Engage with industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and explore internship and placement opportunities for students

Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to institutional reporting requirements

Support student success through office hours, academic advising and pastoral care as appropriate

What we're looking for:

A Master's degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline

Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in the IT industry or a combination of industry experience and prior teaching experience

Strong expertise in one or more core IT domains such as software development, systems administration, networking, database management, cybersecurity or data science

Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences

Demonstrated excellence in curriculum design and course delivery at tertiary level

Excellent knowledge of current IT industry trends, tools and best practices

Strong commitment to student-centred learning and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively

Proficiency in English for teaching and academic purposes; proficiency in Indonesian or German is advantageous

A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders across the institution
