Perform, supervise, and coordinate hydrology monitoring programs and ensure effective implementation of monitoring systems, including installation, calibration, maintenance, and data quality control, to support reliable groundwater monitoring and safe mining operations across all areas.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are: 1.
Safety & Compliance
  • Perform safety activities in monitoring installation, calibration, and maintenance works.
  • Ensure all hydrology monitoring activities are conducted in compliance with company safety, government, and environmental standards.

2.
Hydrology Monitoring and Field Operation

  • Perform and supervise installation, calibration, maintenance, and inspection of hydrology monitoring systems (e.g., piezometers, water level monitoring, water quality instruments).
  • Ensure monitoring systems are installed and operated in accordance with approved standards and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshooting of monitoring systems to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
  • Coordinate monitoring activities with all sections in Hydrology Department, Operations, Engineering, and Contractors to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
  • Ensure availability and functionality of monitoring systems to support continuous and reliable data acquisition.

Data Management & Technical Analysis

  • Perform and ensure QA/QC of monitoring data to maintain accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
  • Review and validate monitoring data (e.g., groundwater levels, pressure, water quality) and ensure consistency in interpretation.
  • Perform technical analysis to identify anomalies, data gaps, or system issues.
  • Ensure monitoring database is properly maintained, structured, and accessible for reporting and analysis.

4.Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare and review monitoring reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely submission.
  • Provide technical input regarding monitoring system performance and groundwater monitoring results.
  • Coordinate with other hydrology sections to ensure monitoring data supports operational, planning, and risk management requirements.
  • Communicate monitoring system status, issues, and performance to supervisors and stakeholders.
  • Support development and training of monitoring personnel, including on-the-job training, troubleshooting, and system operation.
  • Support implementation of certification and competency requirements for monitoring systems.
  • Identify and implement improvements in monitoring systems, data quality processes, and field practices.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (S1) in Geology, Mining, Instrumentation, Informaticsor related geoscience discipline.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in hydrology/hydrogeology monitoring or related field, preferably in mining operations.

Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Characters)

  • Strong understanding of hydrology monitoring systems (e.g., piezometers, water level, water quality instrumentation).
  • Knowledge of monitoring installation, calibration, and maintenance practices.
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes for monitoring data.
  • Ability to supervise field teams and coordinate monitoring activities.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with monitoring data management systems and tools.
  • Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Basic project and resource coordination capability.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in English both verbal and written.
