As part of our continued growth and commitment to regulatory compliance, we are looking for an experienced Government Relations & Homologation Specialist to join our team.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced professional to manage and oversee all government-related regulatory matters concerning vehicle homologation, taxation valuation (NJKB/NJOP), and factory/production administrative compliance. This role serves as the primary liaison between PT Omoway Trading Indonesia and relevant government bodies, ensuring smooth, timely, and compliant processes for product certification, registration, and licensing.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end vehicle homologation processes (type approval/uji tipe) with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) and related testing institutes (e.g., BPLJSKB/B2
TKS) for all company motorcycle models.
Coordinate the determination and updates of NJKB (Nilai Jual Kendaraan Bermotor) with relevant provincial government bodies and Bapenda, ensuring accurate and favorable vehicle tax base valuations.
Liaise with local government (Pemda) and tax offices regarding NJOP (Nilai Jual Objek Pajak) matters related to company factory/warehouse assets.
Serve as the main point of contact with the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) for TKDN (local content), industrial permits, and production administration compliance.
Manage relationships and correspondence with Korlantas Polri, Samsat, and other authorities related to vehicle registration (STNK/BPKB/TNKB) and pre-registration requirements.
Monitor and interpret changes in government regulations (e.g., electric vehicle incentives, emission standards, import/export policy, industrial standards) and advise internal stakeholders on business impact.
Prepare, compile, and submit all administrative documents required for licensing, certification renewal, and compliance audits.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant ministries, local government offices, and regulatory bodies to support business interests and smooth operations.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Brand teams to ensure new product launches meet all regulatory requirements ahead of schedule.
Represent the company in industry associations, government working groups, or public hearings related to electric vehicle policy (e.g., AISI, government EV roadmap discussions) when required.
Provide regular reporting and updates to management on regulatory status, risks, and upcoming compliance deadlines.
Job RequirementsExperience & Education
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or homologation, ideally within the automotive, motorcycle, or manufacturing industry.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Engineering, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Proven track record of direct engagement with Kemenhub, Kemenperin, Bapenda, Korlantas, or other relevant Indonesian government institutions.
Prior experience with electric vehicle (EV) regulations is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of vehicle homologation/type-approval processes (uji tipe) in Indonesia.
Solid knowledge of NJKB and NJOP mechanisms, calculation, and government negotiation processes.
Familiarity with TKDN calculation and certification requirements.
Understanding of vehicle registration processes (STNK, BPKB, TNKB) and related regulations.
Awareness of current EV incentive policies, import regulations, and industry standards in Indonesia.
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills with government officials and regulatory bodies.
Strong administrative and documentation management skills, with high attention to detail.
Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into actionable business recommendations.
Strong communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and verbal).
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
High integrity, discretion, and professionalism given the sensitivity of government relations work.
Willingness to travel domestically as needed for regulatory meetings and inspections.
