Backend Software Engineer

Our platforms are currently deployed all over the world, covering more than 500 million square meters!

We’re looking for someone with an individual contributor with a specialization in backend development.
This role is fully remote, and open to anybody living within a 2.5 hour difference to Singapore's time zone.

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power our applications, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Work with SQL databases, Django, and microservices to support business-critical features and data flows.
• Implement best practices for backend system design, including monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate closely with our Frontend Developers, Product Manager, CTO, and other cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Manage containerized environments using Docker and contribute to deployment pipelines.
• Review existing backend architecture and recommend improvements for scalability and maintainability.
• Utilize Git for code versioning and ensure backend code quality through testing and peer reviews.

• Ideally around 3+ years of in-depth experience with backend development and distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in building robust and scalable backend services.
• Prior professional experience working with Django, SQL databases, and microservices architecture.
• Solid experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker,
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and deploying backend services in production environments.
• Prior experience in a startup environment would be a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead projects from ideation to execution.
• Past experience in a startup environment would be a big plus.
