Job Description & How to Apply Below
Automation Consulting Pty Ltd is a small, fast-growing Australian startup specializing in AI and automation consulting, helping businesses streamline operations with smart, scalable solutions.
Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly capable and hands‑on Technical Lead to drive and deliver complex technical initiatives. You will collaborate with international clients (primarily in Australia) and internal cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and high‑quality outcomes. This role emphasizes technical excellence, execution, and ownership, ensuring that solutions are not only well‑designed but also effectively implemented and completed.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage end‑to‑end technical delivery, focusing on execution, quality, and completion.
- Work closely with the CTO and Business Analysts to define technical solutions.
- Coordinate with internal cross‑functional teams (developers, QA, Dev Ops, and analysts) to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, architecture oversight, and code reviews to maintain scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Apply and enforce best practices in software design, Dev Ops, and development conventions.
- Support and mentor team members through pair programming, PR reviews, and constructive feedback, while being open to counter‑ideas and discussions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies (cloud, automation, AI) and help shape internal technical standards.
- 8+ years of experience in application development, solution architecture, and a solid understanding of Dev Ops practices.
- Proven experience working in fast‑paced, multi‑context environments while maintaining high‑quality output.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort working with technical unknowns — across nocode, low‑code, and high‑code contexts.
- Proficiency with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies (e.g., N8N, Power Automate, UiPath) and integration frameworks (APIs, messaging queues, etc.).
- Create and maintain technical documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and smooth knowledge transfer across teams.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and enforce best practices, technical standards, and coding conventions.
- Detail‑oriented, with strong execution discipline and follow‑through.
- Actively support and mentor team members through pair programming and code reviews, giving constructive feedback while being open to different perspectives and ideas.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Experience working in startups or small, agile teams.
- Prior exposure to Australian or Western markets.
- Flexible working hours for work‑life balance.
- Partnership mindset ("work with us, not for us").
- Laptop provided for work purposes.
- Collaborative and nurturing environment.
- Knowledge sharing and skill enhancement opportunities.
- Respectful and inclusive team culture.
- Long‑term opportunity with ongoing projects and growth potential.
