Job Summary

This role will be responsible for the day to day management and supervision of the Engine Control Unit Assembly production area. This incumbent will be responsible for ensuring top quality units are produced, implementing continuous process improvement and cost savings, and performing the everyday schedule/team management duties. This incumbent will have the opportunity to work alongside engineering/maintenance, quality and production colleagues to improve existing processes and define new processes where needed.

You will be able to provide process expertise regarding process improvement techniques to achieve corporate objectives within the costs allowable.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop ECU production personnel.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Maintain operations data.
  • Organize workflow.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, and production schedules to determine production requirements.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair service.
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve associate problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Monitor or patrol work area and enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Daily activities, as well as other duties as assigned:
  • Floor control
  • Production reporting (inventories, production achievement, rejects)
  • Quality improvement
  • Associate communications
  • Attendance tracking (line‑up, overtime)
  • 5S and safety control (6S)
  • Continuous improvement (efficiency, quality, budget, w/PDCA cycle)
  • Initiate training and assessment
  • Total preventative maintenance tracking (TPM)
  • Associate coaching and counseling
  • Understand and achieve customer requirements (quality, cost, delivery)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field.
  • 3 years’ experience as a direct supervisor.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Self‑directed and task‑oriented.
  • Willing to work overtime as required and all shifts.
  • Proven ability to lead teams.
  • Experience in coaching and counselling direct reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field from an AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE accredited university or college.
  • 3 years of work experience in a high speed, Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Project management.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience with proven upward growth.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Will supervise associates, lead teams, enforce company policies and procedures.
