RN - Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Surgical Services
We are searching for an RN – Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to join ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital, a full‑service 117‑bed acute care facility serving Tarboro and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities- Delegate responsibilities and authority for managing a nursing unit, holding staff accountable and initiating disciplinary action as needed.
- Participate in budget planning and implement cost‑containment plans.
- Coordinate, evaluate and improve nursing care.
- Promote safe, cost‑effective, quality patient care.
- Participate in direct patient care and communicate with patients and families.
- Assist the Nurse Manager in evaluating, commending and providing guidance to staff.
- Evaluate and supervise documentation of care.
- Assist in providing patient, family and staff education.
- Perform ongoing assessment of unit needs, adjusting staffing schedules as required.
- Assign care to staff based on patient acuity and staff competency.
- Demonstrate respectful, dignified care behavior toward patients, families, visitors and staff.
- Act as liaison between patients, families and physicians.
- Serve as a communication agent between Nursing Administration and shift staff.
- Develop leadership/managerial role by demonstrating professional growth and fulfilling annual education requirements for supervisors.
- Interpret policies and procedures for staff members.
- Facilitate changes in policies, procedures and protocols.
- Serve as a resource to staff in problem identification and solution.
- Impact staff behavior for improved staff relations and patient care.
- Utilize support services appropriately.
- Actively participate in the Quality Assurance & Improvement (QAI) process.
- Up to $30,000 Commitment Incentive may be earned.
- BSN required (or higher).
- NCRN licensure required.
- One year of additional graduate education may substitute for one year of experience; maximum substitution of two years.
- Two to three years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year in the required clinical subspecialty.
- Preferred previous leadership experience and proficiency with computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Groupwise).
- Time in staffing (charge nurse role) and office time will be based on OIP recommendations for the unit.
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday, 0645 to 1508.
- Backup call shifts as needed.
