Job SummaryThe Salus Lifestyle Coordinator (Activities Assistant) assists the Salus Lifestyle Coach in providing a diversified program of individual and group activities that enable each resident to engage in cultural, spiritual, physical, political, social and intellectual activities within the community, promoting each resident’s potential and sense of usefulness to self and others.
Education And Experience- Experienced in activity planning, preferably with seniors
- Experienced and interested in working with seniors
- Possesses creative activity skills
- Demonstrates organizational skills
- Mature, pleasant, friendly, and cheerful personality
- Driver Requirements:
State driver license required with clean driving record and completion of all HR policies and procedures for community driver
- Provide outstanding service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors
- Facilitate socialization among residents
- Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities
- Work with other program associates to coordinate joint programs
- Conduct or lead the majority of programs
- Be flexible in work schedule to accommodate special events and evening/weekend programs
- Train, support, and instruct volunteers to assist with activities as needed
- Plan, coordinate, and help implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays
- Coordinate family functions and events
- Plan weekly excursions
- Identify needed supplies for planned activities
- Assist with transportation for activity outings and regularly scheduled group trips
- Drive the company vehicle for resident activities and appointments when needed, if certified and approved
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Salus Lifestyle Coach to ensure smooth operation of the program and meet resident needs
- Follow all emergency procedures
- Understand safety policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Salus Lifestyle Coach and other community staff
- Immediately advise the Salus Lifestyle Coach and Resident Care Director of any changes in physical and mental health of any resident
- Promote the community in a positive manner and effectively communicate community values to residents, families, and associates
- May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments
