Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a growing and well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Taunton, Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive practice environment. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, providing high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services while working closely with Partners and the wider team.

• Managing a diverse portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients across a range of sectors.
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Reviewing corporation tax computations and supporting with personal tax compliance.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive accounting advice and support.
• Building strong, long-term client relationships.
• Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team and providing guidance where required.
• Supporting and mentoring junior staff to aid their development.
• Assisting Partners with workflow management, client service and business development opportunities.

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Experience managing a client portfolio.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and tax compliance.
• Confidence reviewing accounts and supporting advisory work.
• Excellent communication skills with a client-focused and commercial approach.

• Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience.
