Quantock Vale Surgery have an exciting opportunity to join the reception/administration team.
Quantock Vale Surgery is a dispensing partnership with three full-time doctors, supported by a nurse practitioner, the practice nursing team and administrative staff. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of medical care, with a friendly, courteous and professional approach.
Main duties of the jobProcessing all documents coming into the surgery, both electronically and as paper.
Processingrepeat prescription requests using the Practice Repeat Prescribing Protocol.
Operating the internal messaging systemsefficiently and completely.
Meeting, greeting and checking-in patientsarriving for appointments.
Meeting and greeting visitors to the practice and guiding them through the practices signing-in procedure.
Updating the patient computer record with administrative details of patients e.g. Change of Address
Processing requests for information from Doctors, Practice Nurses and Practice Manager.
Making appointments through the computer-basedappointments system, using our triage system to establish and record for the cliniciana brief reason for the visit / home visit.
Dealing with requests and queries raised by patients visiting the practice.
Updating the patient computer record with administrative details of patients e.g. Change of Address
Answering the telephone in a timely and appropriate manner.
Contacting patients by telephone as required.
Various housekeeping duties including assisting with deliveries, collections and keeping the reception area tidy.
Other ad hoc tasks required to support the effective and efficient day-to-day running of the practice.

The surgery is recruiting for one or two receptionists depending on the right candidates flexibility and availability. Please see below for the working pattern for this role.
Mondays - 08:30-18:30 (9 hours with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Tuesdays - 08:30-18:00 (8.5 hours with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Wednesdays - 08:30-18:30 (9 hours with 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Fridays - 08:30-12:30 (4 hours)

Person Specification Qualifications- A good standard of education
- Working in healthcare
