This is an exciting opportunity to join our endoscopy reception team, working closely with clinical colleagues to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care.
The role is for 19 hours a week and covers both Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and Bridgwater Community Hospital
. The shift pattern is 8am - 6pm (9.5 hours), 2 days a week. This is not set days but rostered in advance.
The ideal candidate will have a welcoming and friendly personality, be a team player with good organisation skills and the ability to multitask and switch between tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for dealing with colleagues, patients and families.
Previous experience working in a reception or similar setting would be beneficial.

Main duties of the jobCover Endoscopy reception at both Musgrove Park and Bridgwater Community Hospitals as required
, welcoming and checking in patients or redirecting to other areas of the hospital.
Welcome visitors / trades, ensuring they identify themselves, sign in and directing them to appropriate departments.
Acting as first point of contact for the department via telephone and face to face.
Answering telephone queries, creating appointments and arranging transport for patients.
Receiving and processing referrals for patients requiring inpatient and outpatient appointments.
Following protocols to process referrals using Maxims, Medilogik and EPRO.
Manage the endoscopy reception inbox, responding to and actioning emails as appropriate.
Work closely with the Endoscopy bookings team to communicate any list changes or cancellations, ensuring timely rebooking for patients.
Ensure the reception area is kept tidy and well organised and that both office and medical supplies are ordered and kept stocked up.

Person Specification Qualifications- Good standard of education, both in literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to work in a busy and often demanding area where duties required are constantly changing.
- Dealing with patients/general public.
- Previous administration / reception experience.
- Keyboard skills necessary to work with computer systems.
- Evidence of a good standard of Literacy / English language skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills via:
- Telephone Email Face to face Written correspondence
- Organise the daily workload of the reception area.
- Ability to juggle tasks as there are constant interruptions.
- Punctual.
- Understanding the importance of patient confidentiality.
- Willingness to use technology to improve standards of care and support to our patients
- Knowledge of Hospital computer systems, e.g. Medilogik, EPRO, Maxims.
