Quantity Surveyor

Our client delivers high-quality groundwork packages for regional and national house building companies and, following recent project commencements and a strong pipeline of secured contracts, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks/Civils) to join their dynamic commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency and control across multiple groundwork schemes.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, and overheads
• Monitor project expenditure and implement effective cost control measures
• Conduct financial feasibility studies for proposed projects
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and procurement
• Prepare tender documentation and assist with bid evaluations
• Maintain accurate financial records including valuations, applications, and payments
• Produce regular cost reports and forecasts for senior management
• Support in resolving cost and contractual disputes where required

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the house building or groundwork sector
• Strong understanding of cost control principles and commercial management
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving
• Ability to work collaboratively within a commercial team environment
