Civil Engineering / Infrastructure Rate:£500 Per Day The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major civil engineering and infrastructure project based on the East London / Kent borders . The successful Senior QS will work closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor , taking responsibility for key commercial activities across two live contracts.
The role would suit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong main contractor experience , particularly someone comfortable working in a site-based commercial environment and with subcontract procurement, change management and claims.
Key Responsibilities Work as part of the commercial team on the Bexley ALF project. Report directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor. Progress the procurement of a number of key subcontract packages . Support procurement activities across the Bexley ALF and Combe Bank contracts. Assist with the preparation and evaluation of variations and change . Assist with the assessment of EOT (Extension of Time) claims .
Review and evaluate subcontractor applications, commercial submissions and claims. Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure commercial matters are effectively managed. Maintain accurate commercial records and provide support to the wider commercial team. Requirements Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline. Previous experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction. Strong experience of subcontract procurement and commercial management .
Experience dealing with variations, change and EOT claims . Strong communication and negotiation skills. Able to work effectively in a predominantly site-based environment.
