SEN Teaching Assistant

Overview

Do you want to make a real difference every day? We are recruiting a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a special school near Taunton, supporting students aged 4 to 19 with SEMH, autism, and learning disabilities.

• Full-time: 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
• Start: ASAP, with a 16-week settling period, with possibility of permanent role thereafter
• Pay: £13.70 per hour
• You will provide 1:1 or small-group support to students across different ages and needs, helping them access lessons, regulate emotions, build confidence and grow independence

You’ll work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff in a specialist setting.

This is a well-respected special school, rated Good in its most recent inspection. Ofsted. It serves learners with moderate to profound needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health challenges. Inspectors noted that pupils “feel safe,” that “staff know pupils well and care about their well-being,” and that “when things get tricky, staff give them space, listen and take time to talk.”
