Learning support assistant; SEND

We are seeking a calm, compassionate, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated grande support to pupils at a welcoming, inclusive, and forward‑thinking mainstream primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference within a supportive school community that values consistency, empathy, and positive relationships.

The role involves delivering structured 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, and SEMH. Some pupils present with behavioural challenges, requiring a confident, proactive, and composed approach. Full‑time availability is preferred but not essential.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to create a nurturing, secure, and engaging learning environment where pupils feel understood, respected, and empowered to succeed.

• Provide targeted 1:1 or small‑group support tailored to pupils' individual learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Build trusting, positive relationships that promote confidence, self‑regulation, and engagement with learning.
• Use calm de‑escalation strategies, clear boundaries, and consistent approaches to manage and reduce challenging behaviour.
