Full Time Long-Term Opportunity

Teacher Active is working with a specialist SEND school in Taunton that is looking to recruit a caring and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

This specialist setting supports children and young people aged 4 19 with complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), autism, physical disabilities, and communication needs. The school provides a highly supportive and structured environment, focusing on developing communication, independence, and life skills.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage in learning activities and daily routines.

• Support pupils with complex SEND needs in the classroom

• Assist with communication, sensory activities, and engagement in learning

• Provide 1:1 and small group support

• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and life skills

• Support personal care and moving & handling where required

• Patient, caring, and supportive

• Passionate about working with children with additional needs

• Experience in SEND, care, support work, or education is beneficial but not essential

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
