The roleAs an Instrumentation and Control Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering one of the UK’s flagship nuclear new build projects. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a major clean energy programme while developing highly sought‑after skills in commissioning, instrumentation, and control systems within a complex engineering environment.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:
- Support the preparation for installation and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems
- Execute onsite commissioning tests across a range of industrial systems
- Collaborate with installation teams to verify build quality and readiness for commissioning
- Review and enhance commissioning processes, procedures, and best practices
- Record, analyse, and report commissioning data, test results, and findings
This is a full‑time role (5 days per week) based onsite at Hinkley Point
C. During early planning phases, limited flexibility for homeworking may be available.
- Demonstrating practical knowledge of process measurement systems (pressure, flow, level, temperature)
- Hands‑on experience with industrial instrumentation and associated equipment
- Experience with control systems such as distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers
- Support commissioning, testing, or maintenance activities in heavy industry environments
- Effective communication of technical information to multidisciplinary teams
- Degree or Higher National Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline
