Joining the Taunton team as VAT Manager or VAT Senior Manager you will work closely with colleagues across the firm to collaborate internally and develop client relationships. You will deliver a wide range of VAT compliance and advisory solutions, provide commercial advice on complex VAT issues to OMBs, large groups, corporates and wider clients across land and property, partial exemption, international services, charities and not‑for‑profit organisations.

You will actively identify opportunities for VAT services, promote them internally and externally, and manage the delivery of VAT planning projects, negotiating with HMRC on VAT disputes. In addition to delivering a quality service to clients, you will manage and support a wider team and work with directors to grow the firm’s VAT service lines, carving a key influential role within this growing firm with a clear progression path on offer.

Ideally qualified across any of ACA/ACCA/CTA, you must have specialised in VAT operating at the VAT Manager or VAT Senior Manager levels. Your background may have been gained in any accountancy practice firm environment—from a top‑tier firm through to mid‑tier/Top 50 or independent practice—or a mixed career spanning practice, in‑house VAT, or HMRC specialising in VAT.
