Cedar Lodge and The Limes Dementia Care Home is nestled on the peaceful outskirts of Taunton, Somerset, overlooking a beautiful park. The service provides a supportive and specialist environment for up to 42 residents, including younger adults and male residents living with complex mental health needs.

We are now recruiting a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to join our close knit team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about mental health care and committed to delivering safe, person centred support in a structured and therapeutic environment.

At our home, you will be a key member of the care team, helping us maintain an excellent standard of care while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.

What You Will Do

You will support residents with daily living activities, encouraging independence while providing structured and consistent care tailored to individual needs. You will follow and contribute to personalised care plans, ensuring support reflects each resident’s mental health needs, preferences and goals. You will monitor wellbeing, report changes appropriately and work closely with nurses and the wider team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

You will build professional relationships with residents, offering reassurance, stability and positive engagement. You will support meaningful activities, promote emotional wellbeing and help maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere within the home. Your role will also involve accurate record keeping and clear communication with colleagues and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For
  • Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is preferred
  • At least six months experience working in a mental health care setting
  • Experience supporting male patients and younger adults is desirable
  • A calm, resilient and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and professional attitude
