Plating Technician

Position: Plating Technician (Permanent)
We are now looking for a Plating Technician to join a contract manufacturing site in Taunton.

You will be responsible for conducting plating and surface treatment operations on a wide range of components. This will include component preparation, pre-treatments, application of coating & plating materials and post processing components ready for the next production step.

As an experienced Plating/Surface Finishing Technician, you will be carrying out various processes in the production of precision assemblies.

The role will involve electro-plating, etching, cleaning & testing amongst other associated production tasks as well as bulk handling of chemicals whilst working safely to Health & Safety/COSHH standards.

You will be working in a small team and working standard day shifts with flexibility.

Owing to the current Plating / Surface Finishing Technician moving on to a new challenge, the successful candidate should be available to start as soon as possible.

Experience and Qualifications:

Ideally you should have experience in a surface treatments facility, including safely handling chemicals, surface preparation and lapping, chemical etching, cleaning and plating pre-treatment processes.

You should have a good eye for detail; and have the ability to read and accurately follow work instructions, along with a good technical ability and understanding of manufacturing equipment.

You should have a basic awareness of Health and Safety legislation.

Ideally you will be qualified to the Institute of Metal Finishing Technician level.
