We believe that great hospitality starts with the right people and are on the hunt for a talented Maintenance Manager at our Tavistock Hotel, nestled opposite the picturesque Tavistock Square Gardens in the vibrant heart of Bloomsbury, London.
The hotel has 395 rooms and is a homely place to be, offering an on‑site Indian restaurant bar and laid‑back lounge bar.
Position Details
- 40 hours a week (5/7 days a week, flexibility required)
- Circa £48,500.00 + benefits
- Location:
Bloomsbury, London
- Assign daily workload, plan scheduled maintenance and preventive maintenance for a team of shift engineers, painters/decorators and supervise contractors where necessary.
- Regularly inspect all hotel equipment, services, buildings and plant to maintain best standards in line with H&S legislation and company guidelines.
- Liaise regularly with the Hotel Manager and other Heads of Department to understand daily workload and other scheduled maintenance activity.
- Maintain current and working knowledge of all building maintenance systems – plant rooms, electrical equipment, fire safety systems – carrying out regular inspections and supervising implementation of maintenance standards and procedures.
- Ensure that all team members work in line with security and H&S procedures and use all equipment with proper operation and safety procedures.
- Recruit, train and develop the team through day‑to‑day coaching to meet KPIs, carrying out performance reviews and managing poor performance.
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance position, ideally within a hotel, large retail outlet or building management services role.
- Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, decoration and carpentry tasks; trade qualifications in NVQ level 2/3 electrical, plumbing or heating are advantageous.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of Health and Safety laws and regulations, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
- Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure and resolve issues quickly.
- Self‑motivated, takes pride in work and prioritises safety for self and others.
- Excellent communication skills, able to deal with individuals at any level internally and externally.
