Commercial Solar Pv Engineer

As an Experienced Commercial Solar PV Engineer (Solar Edge specialist and qualified electrician), you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial‑scale solar PV systems. A key focus will be working with Solar Edge inverters, optimizers, and monitoring platforms to ensure maximum system efficiency and reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install, test, and commission commercial solar PV systems to the highest standards.
• Lead and support electrical installations, ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and all relevant regulations.
• Work extensively with Solar Edge technology, including configuration, optimization, and fault‑finding.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing issues quickly and effectively.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and junior team members.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to industry best practice.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3, AM2, 18th Edition, ECS/CSCS card).
• PV and EESS/ 2922 & 2932 level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in commercial solar PV installation and maintenance.
• Expert knowledge of Solar Edge inverters, optimizers, and monitoring systems
  .
• CSCS JIB Gold card.
• Strong understanding of grid connections, three‑phase systems, and protection equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

DESIRABLE:

• Experience with battery storage systems.
• Working on roofs.

JOB TYPE:

Permanent & Full Time

The standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday. However, hours may vary based on site‑specific requirements and job needs. This role will require a hybrid work arrangement, with time split between the office and site locations.
