Engineered Comfort Solutions (ECS) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HVAC/MEP/Industrial Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team. In this pivotal role, you will accurately estimate project costs for large-scale commercial and industrial HVAC/MEP systems, including Power Plant Generation and other trade disciplines. Your expertise will help ECS secure high-value bids and ensure project profitability and performance. Responsibilities>
Prepare detailed material takeoffs and labor estimates for sheet metal, piping, controls, and HVAC equipment.
Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and resolve discrepancies.
Support value engineering efforts and propose alternative solutions where applicable.
Maintain historical cost databases and benchmarking tools.
Prepare and present bid packages; participate in internal bid reviews and project handoff meetings.
Track bid results and maintain a strong opportunity pipeline.
Use estimating software (Procore or equivalent) for efficient and accurate estimating.
Qualifications3–5 years of HVAC/MEP or mechanical estimating experience required.
Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems: ductwork, hydronics, air handling, and controls.
Proficient in estimating tools (e.g., Procore, MS Excel).
Familiarity with local mechanical codes, ASHRAE, and SMACNA standards.
Skilled in blueprint and spec interpretation.
Detail-oriented with strong time management and communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
