Keeping controls online is part of the role; owning the continued improvement of system performance, sequence quality, documentation, and verified customer outcomes is the standard. ECS is looking for a BAS controls professional who sees the entire system – field devices, wiring, controllers, networks, sequences, HVAC operation, commissioning, and the customer’s experience. You will install, integrate, troubleshoot, and improve the systems that keep complex commercial and industrial facilities operating.
Why ECSFor more than 30 years, Engineered Comfort Systems has supported complex commercial and industrial environments with mechanical systems, HVAC service, automation controls, responsive communication, and disciplined documentation. ECS is building its next stage of growth by adding people who want responsibility, development, and the chance to influence what comes next. Learn more at
What You Will Own- Install and service BAS controls for boiler plants, chiller plants, rooftop units, air‑handling equipment, cooling towers, VAV systems, and related commercial/industrial HVAC equipment.
- Install low‑voltage control wiring, Ethernet and communication wiring, switches, routers, controllers, sensors, relays, transducers, actuators, and control panels.
- Build and install customer control panels for HVAC control applications.
- Support PC- and IP‑based integration with building automation systems.
- Configure, test, commission, and start up DDC control systems.
- Troubleshoot new and existing control systems, HVAC operation, sequences, field devices, and communication networks.
- Verify that the sequence works in the real building – not only that the controller is online.
- Communicate findings, risks, status, and next steps clearly to customers, project teams, and ECS leadership.
- Installations are clean, safe, organized, documented, and ready for commissioning.
- You move methodically from symptom to root cause across mechanical, electrical, controls, and network layers.
- Startups and service calls end with tested operation, clear documentation, and a customer who understands the outcome.
- You close loops without being chased and ask for help before a risk becomes a failure.
- The system, documentation, and customer understanding are stronger because you owned the full outcome.
- You are disciplined, consistent, and personally accountable for the full outcome.
- You enjoy technical complexity and remain persistent when the answer crosses multiple systems.
- You follow a process, document your work, and know when the data proves the system is operating correctly.
- You communicate like a professional with customers and teammates.
- You want continued development, certifications, larger systems, and increasing responsibility.
This will not fit:
If ‘the controller is online’ is your finish line, or if you wait for others to close your communication and documentation loops, this is not your role.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on commercial or industrial HVAC controls experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, sequencing, design, and operating applications.
- Proven troubleshooting ability across HVAC systems and BAS…
