The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and documenting customer business needs and translating them into functional application, operational, and testing requirements. Serving as a liaison between internal business units, vendors, and software development teams, this role ensures alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. The Business Analyst also contributes to process improvement initiatives and supports project delivery across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with project managers, executives, developers, and subject matter experts to gather and clarify business and project requirements.
- Conduct interviews, document analysis, workshops, and use case creation to obtain detailed requirements.
- Analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop measurable improvements.
- Define, document, and maintain business workflows and tasks in coordination with project managers.
- Translate business needs into developmental specifications, use cases, and test cases.
- Support the implementation of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multiple initiatives, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Use requirements to guide the design and review of test cases and verify system performance.
- Identify and communicate project risks or obstacles impacting delivery.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for business analysis practices and mentor peers when necessary.
- Apply business and financial analysis to support decision-making and maximize ROI.
- Stay informed about emerging industry trends and best practices in business analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Proficiency in gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
- Understanding of business process modeling and improvement methodologies.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Sound judgment in evaluating complex business situations and making independent decisions.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
- Experience in project management or coordination roles.
- Familiarity with process mapping tools, workflow automation, and enterprise systems.
- Business/financial analysis and ROI assessment experience.
CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) – Preferred
CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis) – Preferred
EducationBachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field (Required).
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
