As a Senior Facilities Wastewater Technician for our 24/7 Operations team, you will operate and maintain assigned industrial wastewater systems—including Activated Sludge, Multi‑Media Filters, Reverse Osmosis, Ion Exchange, Ultrafiltration, Brine Concentrator, Crystallize rs, Boilers, Centrifuges, Heat Exchangers, Biological Nutrient Removers (BNR), and Membrane Bioreactors (M )—to ensure optimal facility operations. The technician is expected to troubleshoot complex issues to root cause and provide recommendations for resolution.
EssentialFunctions
- Monitor equipment and systems in current state, proactively looking for ways to improve reliability; monitor the work of others to mitigate impacts on equipment and systems.
- Work well in a team environment and communicate effectively throughout the organization.
- Perform equipment rounds and readings, accessing all equipment areas and systems including equipment rooms, chemical areas, containment bays, and catwalks.
- Respond to equipment/system failures and perform initial troubleshooting.
- Create, maintain, and improve operational SOPs; manage the operations certification system.
- Mentors and trains junior technicians on processes and procedures.
- Execute improvement projects outside normal duties to enhance the area.

Competencies / Experience Needed- Strong understanding of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment processes.
- Demonstrated innovation through solutions, designs, and measurements.
- Strong multivariable analytical skills and ability to read complex P&IDs.
- Knowledge of industrial and municipal wastewater treatment equipment (valves, pumps, hydraulic, high‑pressure air systems).
- Typing skills minimum 30 wpm.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and basic record‑keeping techniques.
- Ability to work shifts, independently, and meet schedules and timelines.
- Effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Flexible, adaptable, and team oriented.
All work is performed in an industrial environment.
Physical Demands- Must lift >45 lbs.
- Stand or walk >10 hours daily, climb stairs and ladders.
- Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions; twist and bend body as needed.
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Vision and audible alarms may involve yellow lights and blinking lights.
- TCEQ Wastewater certifications are a plus.
- Experience with Siemens, FMCS, and Honeywell SCADA systems.
- Power plant, municipal, or high‑volume manufacturing experience preferred.
