Mechanical QC Inspector
Under the direction of the Project Quality Manager and QC Engineer, the Mechanical QC Inspector is responsible for the Mechanical Qualification verification, work inspection, and observation on site. The Mechanical QC Inspector interacts with project team members, supply partners, and contractors to gather data required for accurate construction and reporting.
Responsibilities- Maintain quality records as required by the quality management system and review records for completeness.
- Assist PQM in maintaining quality records related to traceability of materials and technician qualification and equipment calibration.
- Manage material inspection with supply partners and designated QC personnel.
- Assist work inspection and testing with construction team and supply partners.
- Report non-conformities to project team, supply partners, and contractors.
- Monitor in-progress site work through the inspection process.
- Assist PQM in issuing NCR, punch list, or observation requests and follow-up for closure.
- Report quality control results and non-conformities to the project team.
- Coordinate with project team and supply partners to implement quality control and mitigation plans.
- Document and manage project special processes (e.g., welding inspection, fusion, bonding).
- Control and monitor IMTE (Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment) under PQM.
- Review material submittals for compliance with specifications and client requirements.
- Establish processes for on-site quality improvement.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical construction experience and 3 years as a mechanical inspector.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (PPT, Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of Quality Management System and Quality Control Procedure.
- Experience with work/material inspection process and record keeping.
- Ability to review material submittals and drawings for inspection.
- Knowledge of local and city inspection processes (rough/final/fire marshal).
- Familiarity with various construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency with NFPA National Code, SMAC, NACE.
